Política de privacidad de SmartSocial.com

Actualizado el 1 de diciembre de 2023

SmartSocial is operated by Media Leaders LLC.

1. Welcome to SmartSocial

SmartSocial provides educational resources and online workshops about technology, digital safety, and healthy online habits. Some resources are free; others require membership or access through a participating organization. These terms are presented for agreement when you create an account or when we request acceptance of an updated version. Separate written partner agreements govern organizational purchases and additional permissions; these terms do not change those agreements.

2. Accounts and family participation

Accounts are for adult parents and educators, consistent with our Privacy Policy. Children and teens may view appropriate resources with a parent or educator, but may not create independent minor accounts. Adults should guide participation and avoid submitting children’s personal information.

Provide accurate information, keep login codes private, and use only authorized access. Do not impersonate others, sell account access, or publicly distribute restricted access links. Contact us about suspected unauthorized use.

3. Using our content

SmartSocial and its content owners retain ownership of their materials. Authorized users may view resources and use designated downloads for family learning and authorized educator or classroom use, as permitted by the resource or their organization’s agreement.

You may share links to public pages. Reposting restricted videos, reselling materials, removing ownership notices, or editing and redistributing content requires permission unless expressly authorized. Written partner permissions may allow specific clips, embeds, screenings, translations, or co-branding. Credit alone does not grant permission.

4. Live events and respectful participation

Do not harass, threaten, spam, post unlawful material, infringe others’ rights, disrupt services, or bypass access controls. Questions and chat may be visible to other participants. Avoid sharing passwords, private records, or sensitive details about children or other people. Review each event’s participation and recording notices; these terms alone are not a recording or publicity release.

5. Educational information

Our resources provide general education, not personalized medical, mental-health, legal, or security advice. They cannot prevent every risk or guarantee outcomes. Seek qualified help when needed. Our chats and feedback forms are not emergency-reporting channels; contact local emergency services for immediate danger by calling 911 for emergency services or 988 for mental health services.

6. Access and purchases

Review the price, access period, billing, cancellation, and refund information presented before purchasing. Ask us if anything is unclear. Organization-funded access does not necessarily include every service or last indefinitely.

Resources and schedules may change. We may restrict access for misuse or security concerns, giving notice and an opportunity to resolve issues when practical. Applicable consumer rights and separate contractual rights remain protected.

7. Privacy, communications, and giveaways

Our Privacy Policy at https://www.smartsocial.com/privacy describes our published data practices. These terms do not replace it or separate disclosures and choices for promotional texts, media permissions, recordings, or giveaways. Feedback is not blanket permission to publish someone’s identity or story. Prizes are not guaranteed; consult the specific promotion’s rules.

8. Outside websites and apps

Apps, games, websites, and outside video or event services have their own terms and privacy practices. Mentioning them does not guarantee safety or endorse every feature. Settings, ratings, and prices can change; check current provider information. Preview sensitive educational material before sharing it with children.

9. Changes and questions

We will date revisions and give notice of material changes before they apply. Changes apply prospectively, with agreement requested where required; publishing terms does not establish past acceptance. Reach out to use with questions about access, purchases, permissions, or these terms.
