“Dusting” is a dangerous trend that involves teens inhaling compressed air dusters or keyboard cleaners to get high—a form of inhalant abuse that’s growing among adolescents. Because these products are cheap, easy to buy, and legal, many teens mistakenly believe they’re safe. But the chemicals in dusting sprays can cause serious health risks, including brain damage, heart failure, and even death.
In this blog post, we’ll explain what dusting is, why it appeals to teens, the warning signs to watch for, and how parents can start an informed conversation with their children today.
